December 10, 2012 - Montana Governor Schweitzer has ordered all American flags in the State of Montana to be flown at half-staff from Monday, December 10, 2012 until Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in honor of Sergeant First Class Darren M. Linde who died on December 3, 2012 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
October 26, 2012 - Montana Governor Schweitzer has ordered all flags in the State of Montana lowered to half-staff on Friday, October 26, 2012 in honor of United States Senator George McGovern who died on October 21, 2012.
August 30, 2012 - Montana Governor Schweitzer has ordered United flags in Montana to be flown at half-mast Thursday, August 30, 2012 in honor of former Montana State Senate President and former Montana Attorney General Joe Mazurek who died on August 28, 2012.
June 1, 2012 - Montana Governor Schweitzer has directed all flags in the State of Montana lowered to half-staff on Friday, June 1, 2012 in honor of Montana Army National Guard First Lieutenant Stephen Merrill who died unexpectedly of natural causes on May 25, 2012.
Montana Governor Schweitzer has ordered all flags throughout the State of Montana to be flown at half-staff on Thursday, April 19, 2012 in honor of Montana Air National Guard Senior Airman Robert Armstrong who died on April 13, 2012.
Montana Governor Schweitzer has ordered all flags in the State of Montana to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 until sunset on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in honor of United States Army Corporal Antonio C. Burnside who died on April 6, 2012 in Ghanzi Province, Afghanistan.
Montana Governor Schweitzer has ordered all flags flown in the State of Montana lowered to half-staff on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 and Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in honor of all the Montana heroes and veterans of the First Special Service Force – “The Devil’s Brigade,” and in honor of the last Montana survivors of that elite group, Joe Glass and Mark Radcliffe who died on April 1, 2012.
Montana Governor Schweitzer has ordered all flags throughout the State of Montana to be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in honor of retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel, Bill Beaman who died on February 16, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. All individuals are encouraged to join in this tribute.
